EMRS Bahraich UP: Education is a tool that can transform both the direction and condition of any society. When education is properly delivered to students, it not only benefits all students but also uplifts society. When it comes to education in rural and tribal areas, education is not merely a means of acquiring knowledge but also becomes the foundation for transformation and self-reliance of the entire society. Keeping this in mind, the Government of India established the Eklavya Model Residential School. This school provides high-quality residential education to children from underprivileged communities in remote areas of the country, and as part of this initiative, EMRS has been established in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh.
EMRS bojhiya bahraich UP
Bahraich is a border district and a backward district where many rural and tribal groups reside. Education remains elusive here, as there are neither adequate transportation resources nor good schools. EMRS Bahraich has emerged as a ray of hope for these students, providing residential school facilities to residents of rural and tribal communities. The Bahraich EMRS was approved in 2010-11 and has now earned the School of Excellence designation among the select schools in Uttar Pradesh.
The Eklavya Model Residential School is located in the Mihinpurwa block of Bojhiya village in Bahraich, approximately 80 kilometers from the district headquarters. Uttar Pradesh has four approved EMRSs, two of which are operational, and Bojhiya Bahraich is considered the best among these. Students here are taught a CBSE-based curriculum, along with modern technical education, sports, cultural activities, and skill development. Residential facilities are provided to ensure the all-round development of all students.
Background and Objective of EMRS Bahraich Uttar Pradesh
The Eklavya Model Residential School is an ambitious scheme of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. The school aims to provide quality residential education to children from tribal and backward classes. This school was also initiated by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to provide education to children from backward classes living in Bahraich. Currently, this school has become a leading residential school in Uttar Pradesh, instilling discipline, self-reliance, and collectivism in children along with academics.
This important initiative is even more significant for Bahraich district, as a large portion of the population still relies on small businesses and agriculture. Consequently, tribal groups and rural residents have been unable to provide adequate education to their children, and due to lack of resources, children are unable to pursue higher education or participate in competitive examinations. However, since the construction of EMRS Bahraich, circumstances are changing in the Bahraich region of Uttar Pradesh.
